Key requirements for the role include:

  • Experience: Demonstrated professional and technical skills in all facets of Project Management (PM), including the methodologies of building procurement and technology, and the ability to utilise commercial practices in the building industry; 

  • Coordination Skills: Proven ability to project manage building projects, working collaboratively with clients and contractors, and to lead, manage and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary teams; 

  • Contract Management: Proven experience in successfully managing and administering construction contracts;   

  • Communication Skills: Possesses well developed people management, communication, conflict resolution, and problem solving skills;    

  • Multi-Tasking: Adopts a professional and client focussed approach to work at all times and takes responsibility for meeting organisational and project objectives while focussing on achieving quality objectives often in difficult circumstances; 

  • Qualifications: A Degree in a construction related discipline is preferred but not critical. 

The primary purpose of the position is to provide a high level of skill, leadership and professional knowledge in the delivery of PM consulting services.

The position reports to the General Manager, Project Management and Quantity Surveying services and responsibilities include:

  • Holistic PM: Coordinating and managing all aspects of building projects including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration and post construction activities across a range of traditional and non-traditional procuement methodologies;

  • Consultant / Contractor Management: Leading and managing the engagement of consultants and and building contractors in the achievement of project objectives.

  • Client Interactions: Interfacing with clients on day-to-day operational matters.

  • Time / Cost / Quality Management: Ensuring all projects are managed to achieve the client’s scope, time, cost, cash-flow, and quality requirements, as well as Aspect profitability targets.

  • Negotiation Skills: Leading negotiations with consultants, local authorities, the client and contractors to ensure value for money solutions are identified and delivered.

  • Fee Proposals / Invoice Management: Developing fee proposals for services under your control and, where necessary, for the billing of clients.

  • SR Role: Acting as Superintendent’s Representative under the contract for building projects throughout the construction phase;

  • Mentoring: Providing mentoring to other Project Managers (as directed).
